Gather in community for a day of yoga asanas, chanting and ritual that awaken our innate power and sovereignty. We will use movement to cleanse toxic energy and release stagnation and stiffness in the body and the mind. Through storytelling, ancestral practices, and ritual we will move grief and trauma, ignite our innate strength and resilience, and deepen our bonds of sisterhood. Meditation and chanting will be used to illuminate our innate goodness and imbue our power to be of service of all beings. This workshop is only for self-identified women of color.
TEACHER BIO
Satya took her first yoga class in 2001 seeking relief from chronic injuries as an athlete. She quickly fell in love with yoga's ability to heal the mind, body, and heart. Her love of the healing arts led her around the world to study yoga, bodywork, and spirituality. She has studied over 500 hours with Abby Tucker, Sianna Sherman, Sally Kempton and Rob Preece. Offering more than 10 years of experience teaching yoga, Satya inspires students to fall in love with their bodies and their practice. She infuses alignment, storytelling, chanting, and community-building into her classes. Drawing from the traditions of Anusara, Iyengar, and Tantra she empowers students to move mindfully while listening to their hearts.
